ffnet may be down, but to those of you I mentioned this to--the (Vashx(Meryl)xKnives) fic is up at mediaminer. Read it, yo. It's so bad it's glorious.

A quote from a twincest fic on ffnet:

"They had finally found happiness. Of course, there were still many glaring differences between them that occasionally led to serious problems, but at least they had reached the point where they were able to laugh and joke about each other's quirks instead of arguing about them constantly."

Quirks. Yes.

QUIRKS LIKE MURDERING MILLIONS OF PEOPLE!

Much as I hate twincest, I think I hate the non-sexual OOC even more.

I don't think I've ever been so hated.

*shrugs*

I know, I know...I shouldn't have gotten into it with an immature girl who obviously has issues. But hell, someone NEEDED to say something, and the rest...gah. I was about ready to completely lose my temper there, but I suppose I brought it on myself.

I don't really have much else to say, but here's everything for those who were interested. Think good luck thoughts for my Design 104 midterm if you can spare `em. ;)

Gah.

I knew it was a bad idea. I knew it. I have BETTER things to do, dammit. (Though, I did get all my studying done. Yay me.) But I had to go do it again.

What the hell am I talking about? Well, last night I was traipsing through ffnet and came across one of the most blatant examples of review-mongering I have EVER seen.

"****This is not the end of this chapter but I will not continue this with only four people reading it. People kept telling me that they wanted more Trigun fics from me. I started this one so I could fulfill this and because I enjoy writing Trigun fics. When I get nothing from the people who asked for it and only a few reviews per chapter(thank you to the people who did review ^.^) I suspect that no one is even reading this anymore. I take time out of my day to write this for people. I do my best and only a few people are kind enough to review it. I will not continue this if I do not get more reviews. I`m so sorry to the people who are enjoying this but I do need more support to write this.

Thank you to the people who read this. Again: I need more reviews."

I was flabbergasted, though I have no idea why. And I had people egging me on. And so I left a response. Here is the day-long "epic" of stupidity that resulted.

Cut for the idiocy of fangirls )

What, is it "Bewilder Angie Morning" or something?

I have seen it all. I have now seen it fucking all.

"Gunsmoke Ghetto."

I'm sorry, I'm picturing Knives settling down with this twit. and a cat.

JainaX: I think his head would explode

Ryoko Meino: "Honey, I'm going to go massacre everyone in the city. I'll be back before it's too dark."

"Ok, but while you're out, take Mr. Flubbikins for a walk, would you?"

JainaX: What would happen the first time the cat puked?

Ryoko Meino: "My shoes! My shoes, they're disgusting, why? Did you puke in my shoes? Did you really PUKE IN MY SHOES?!"

JainaX: Okay. That was just fabulous.

Ryoko Meino: Then the cat screams and runs away.

It's not Visious or Viscous or Vicous! It's Vicious, dammit! VICIOUS!

The next author on ffnet who leaves a "leave reviews and I'll update" notice at the end of their fic gets the dogs of war loosed on them.

Who's with me?

Weekend was fun. Josh came up. Anime was had. More on that later. Right now I feel like writing about something that has me alternately rolling my eyes and laughing my ass off.

What is it with fic authors thinking they're so damned high and mighty that any criticism at all is a personal attack that wounds them deeply? Without mentioning any names, last night and today I got wind of a certain author in the SM fandom who, as a result of an ASMR thread where her fic was mentioned in a not-completely-favorable manner (a bunch of people complimented it, others voiced their reservations, but nothing major) and one negative review on ffnet has become a whiny crying baby and is threatening to quit fic altogether. Geez, self-important melodrama much? Flames are one thing. Negative reviews are another thing entirely.

To all the annoying authors out there: YOU ARE NOT YOUR FICS. Negative feedback is not a personal attack. Get over it. If you post in a public forum, you should expect to have to deal with the fact that not everyone likes you at some point. People aern't obligated to only post nice reviews. And if someone does leave a negatvie review, they are not obligated to leave an e-mal address so you can whine to them that they are wrong wrong wrong for not loving your precious prose. If you think people actually having standards and preferences takes all the fun out of fic, maybe you're not ready to share your work with the world. If you're that damned sensitive, maybe you should find a cave and hunker down there with the rest of the crybabies who whine that it's not fair that people want things such as characterization, plot, and believability in fic. If you do decide to leave, don't post a passive-aggressive woe-is-me note so your followers will realize how put-upon you are and rush to boost your sagging ego. It's annoying and a manipulative bid for attention.

Suck it up already. Do you think people are being way too harsh and judging your work too critically? Well, if you don't believe them, why should you care what they think? If you're secretly worried that they might be right, why don't you try working and improving your work? Like it or not, fic archives are a public place and not your personal ego-massagers. Get over it already.

...a crossover fic between Trigun and Spongebob Squarepants.

Sometimes people surprise even me.
effervescible: (evilme)
Sigh. I had such hopes for this fic. Now...is a big suck fest. Has silly-ass plot devices. And there's the always-entertaining insta-redemption of Knives.

*bangs head against the wall*

Oy. I hope free time and fic inspiration come to Kiri soon.
effervescible: (irreverentme)
Actually, it's kind of cute. Not good, but cute.

Vash wasn't a very secretive man.Whenever he had anything to say he
always said it infront of whoever was there; he never denied his
feelings either- whether other people were around or if he was
alone.

HA HA HA HA HA HA!

I read an incredibly crappy fic at fanfiction.net. And I broke.

"Here's an interesting anecdote. I was trolling fanfiction.net as I am wont to do and I found this. I was all set to write a scathing review begging someone to explain to me why this was written when I
looked at the reviews page and realized oopsie--I already left a review once. This story is so derivative and unoriginal that I couldn't even distinguish it from the legions of other out-of-character,
poorly written drek that features Serena running off to the States because the Scouts are just MEAN. Tell me, why are you even posting it when you admit that it sucks? If you want attention, try
getting it for something you're good at. At the very least, stop recycling a plot that has been used a thousand and one times, never to great effect. "So guys what did ya think?????? Should I put out
another chapter? Hmmmmmmm?? it's all up to you!!! PLease Review!!!!!!" Well, since you asked...no. Please don't."

It FEELS SO GOOD.
