arafel's last night for the (hopefully) penultimate cosplay session for shinigami!Rukia. We're thinking I might try sundress!Rukia next since I want a simple project and I already have the wig, but that'll have to wait until we finish this one--and I have to say, it's looking pretty awesome. The kimonos are virtually done--I'll post the in-progress pic she took of me with them on once I get it. Dudes, this actually making your own cosplay thing is super addicting. I can only imagine how much worse it is when you have the skills to do it all on your own instead of as an apprentice. Either Katsu will be fun. And CHEAP! The two most important requirements for a con imho.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm setting out to Philadelphia to hang withwreakerofhavoc on her grad school visit. There will be anime, mockery, and quite possibly corsets. SO SCARY. I've only been there once, to visit irenak, and I've never driven there, so wish me luck. It can't be as bad as Manhattan, right? I just hope that my paranoia about the parking garage filling up does not come to pass, because AAA maps doesn't have a "frantic bitches" backup route.
Am feeling rather chipper today. I think it's due to listening to waaaaay too much hyper music on the commute this morning. The upside is that it puts me in a good mood. The downside is that it makes me think my car can fly.

The night before tomorrow
Mar. 4th, 2005 10:39 pmI always get unsettled and slightly broody the night before I fly. I wonder why that is. At least soon I will SLEEP and not have to worry about it anymore--hopefully I can sleep on the plane tomorrow, too. 4 hour 47 minute flight, ugh. At least the way back I layover in Texas, not Georgia, which makes for more balanced flights. WAH. ;_; I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow, since I get to visit with flouritephoenix and rashaka and offscreen and then beloved chaosblue Sunday. WHEES. I just wish it didn't take so damn much flying to get there!
So, California tomorrow. Never been there. I hear it doesn't have snow on the ground where I'm going, and that's really all I need to know.

Traveling for 12ish hours really sucks when you don't gain a few hours back with the time change.
Oh so tired, but oh so glad I went to the wedding. It was lovely. I wish the rest of the hoes could have teleported there, because it was just great, and I had a blast the whole weekend. Details and pics to come, possibly tomorrow. Emma? Char? I really miss you now and desperately want it to be New Year's, like, NOW.

Despite the fact that none of us are huge Elvis fans. It's just something you do if you're in Memphis. Anyway, whoever can explain in a comment why they aer most deserving shall receive some sort of really tacky, gauche Elvis souvenir. I don't know what it'll be yet but trust me--I know tacky.

A condensed update
Mar. 31st, 2004 11:02 amI kept meaning to update this, because I didn't want to post such sad entries and then go on without elaborating or thanking everyone for all the support. It was really nice to know you guys were pulling for me. So, thanks.
( Happy stuff first: Spring Break Part 1 ) Leaving was sad, but I was content in knowing that I'd had a fabulous vacation. I'm trying to coax Casey to come to Ohio in the spring, but there's that whole job and apartment thing, so we may have to wait until Otakon. Luckily, our love is restrained only by the limits of our text messaging rates. I was thrilled to get to seearafel and irenak too--the only bad thing was that it couldn't be for the whole time. Looking forward to August, ladies.
Part 2 will have to wait until after class.
