A condensed update

I kept meaning to update this, because I didn't want to post such sad entries and then go on without elaborating or thanking everyone for all the support. It was really nice to know you guys were pulling for me. So, thanks.

Spring break started out well. I went home, got to see the house we might be moving into, and promptly left to visit [livejournal.com profile] fadingembers. So much fun! Her kitties are adorable, even though Bubba hides and Willow is still in the biting kitteny stage. [livejournal.com profile] arafel came and spent the night and that was mad fun--we watched Last Exile and giggled every time we heard Our Johnny's voice come out of that kid's mouth. I forget what else we watched, but there was Trigun, too, because duh. I also introduced them to Suikoden III (must expand fandom!) and gave a late-night Photoshop tutorial that I'm not even sure I remember. We snarked on fic, too, which is always fun.

The next day, we sadly said goodbye to Arafel and Casey and I headed to Philadelphia. After an adventure getting around the block during which I totally spoiled Casey for everything FFX, we met up with [livejournal.com profile] irenak at the art museum. The Asian & Armory sections were cool. Modern Art was fun like badfic is fun. Afterwards we hit South Street and got baked in the window at Johnny Rocket's. Fetish shops galore! South Street was lots of fun. Condom Kingdom is a hysterical store--gotta love the little spermies leading to the door on the sidewalk. Fun was had, and eventually we plodded back to the cars and after sitting in the parking lot yakking about fic for half an hour, we went to Amanda's house (which is gorgeous btw) and continued yakking about fic (Casey and I have big mouths so she got the entire slutfic condensed) and watching Eddie Izzard with cake. I mean, pizza and martinis.

Monday--after yet another adventure finding parking, Casey and I took the train to New York. Am I dork for being all "whee, train ride!"? `cuz I was. New York was fun. We spent a lot of time traipsing through China Town. I only really bought a duck cell phone strap and a tiny Naruto figure, but there were lots of bootlegs to be had. We found Toys in Babeland, which I highly recommend. A really nice, woman-centered shop that was very well laid-out. All the toys were out for people to handle and test the strength. I bought a book I'd borrowed from the library last summer and it's none of your business what else. ;) We finished the store was Times Square, where everything is large and shiny. We got our specially colored bag of M&M's at Toys R Us along with lots of other candy and see Casey's post for the result of that. That night and for pretty much the rest of my time there we watched anime and plotted fic. (We totally have a Lupin/Trigun crossover idea and now Brian has a storyline. Poor Brian! You guys know Brian, right? He's Brian! Oh, and there was that slutfic thing too.) Leaving was sad, but I was content in knowing that I'd had a fabulous vacation. I'm trying to coax Casey to come to Ohio in the spring, but there's that whole job and apartment thing, so we may have to wait until Otakon. Luckily, our love is restrained only by the limits of our text messaging rates. I was thrilled to get to see [livejournal.com profile] arafel and [livejournal.com profile] irenak too--the only bad thing was that it couldn't be for the whole time. Looking forward to August, ladies.

Part 2 will have to wait until after class.

Sorry I had to miss the latter part of your visit. Still was fun to see you guys outside a con setting! :D
