Hello, dear writer--I'm the worst for not immediately replacing my placeholder as I intended. Life got a little kersplodey, but still, I apologize. If you've already gotten an idea you like or have even started writing, I encourage you to stick with it, because I love reading the result of inspiration even if it doesn't check a bunch of request boxes. That goes even if you haven't thought of something yet, actually. I'd love to receive a story that inspired you or that you just thought would be really fun.

Just in case, though...(stealing a bunch of stuff from last year's letter, which you may have already noticed right below this):

Fic stuff I like in general: stuff that fits into canon (either missing scenes or things that work with the canon timeline to deepen character understanding), canon-divergent AUs of the "what if X was different?" style, both humor and angst, characters spending time together who don't do so much in canon, complicated emotional dynamics. Smut is good, especially with a strong sense of who the characters are, but I'm not specifically looking for that—if it fits with your story and you want to write it, cool, if not, cool. I tend to like het more than slash but not always, and gen is great too.

Fic stuff I don't like: AUs of the "characters are in high school/a coffee shop/etc" variety, character death or excessively unhappy endings (I don't know 100% happiness and sugar, but for Yuletide I'd prefer not to come away depressed), non-canon breakups.

I'm kind of neutral on crossovers, as they can be kind of dull if I only know one of the canons, but little easter eggs are very welcome. The Thrilling Adventure Hour would be something of an exception to this—I'm not specifically looking for a crossover between different segments, but if you felt like including characters from different segments, why not?

The Thrilling Adventure Hour
Sparks Nevada, Ginny West

Overall, I love this series to pieces, but the end was not so much my cup of tea. I have numerous ship permutations I enjoy, but I liked how Sparks grew and changed over the course of his relationship with Ginny (not that she was the only factor of course), and her abrupt exit right after he said left a sour taste in my mouth. I'd love to read a fix-it fic, either post-series or an AU of the end. If you're not up for that specifically, another adventure or a fun romp would also be lovely.

Horizon Zero Dawn
Aloy, Elisabet Sobek

I was fascinated by the similarities and differences between Aloy and her 'mother' in the game, and while it makes sense that Elisabet was long dead, I would love it if you could write something where they do manage to meet--through handwavey bullshit survival, virtually, time travel, whatever--it doesn't need to be realistic. If you're not up for an actual meeting, a story that takes a longer look at who they are and how they interact with people, their environments, etc.

As far as present-day characters who might appear go, I'll just say I ship Aloy with just about everyone at least a little bit, but I'd prefer no major focus on romance.

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles
Cimorene, Mendanbar

Pretty much what I said in my signup--their reunion in the fourth/first book felt very flat to me, so I would absolutely love something that digs a little deeper. Like my TAH request, it could be a remake or a sequel, whatever moves you. (I guess I'm really into fix-it this year!) The two of them exploring the castle and forest together and figurig out what has changed over time and what needs doing could be cool. Any supporting characters you might want to include would be welcomed, I love them all.

Thank you for writing for me! I'm really looking forward to it. Happy Yuletide!
