In a few hours I'll be 20--no longer a teenager. Weird. *g* Sorry, I just wanted to get that recorded, since I think the same thing every year before my birthday. Well, change the ages and the no longer a teen thing, that is. Skeery--I'm actually becoming one of those mythic "adults" that I've been hearing about for years. Nutty.

Today was very cool. Band practice was canceled since we got everything done yesterday, so Mom and Dad picked me up this morning and we drove to see Marc and Carole. Fun was had by all. Maggie is getting really big now, definitely no longer a baby puppy. She'll probably grow some more but she's getting close to fully grown. Poor baby, her hip displacement was obviously affecting her--she runs with her back legs together and she can't climb up stairs now. I hope the surgery helps. Marc is a good "daddy" and takes very good care of her. Carole was playing the first Legend of Zelda when we arrived, which amused me to no end. We went to Mongolian Barbecue for lunch since I picked it--yum! Beef and shrimp are definitely my favorite. We also got to see the Busch's where Carole works. It's fairly swanky, as grocery stores go. Things are looking up for Marc's company--we may see Rubu Tribe for the PS2 yet! I hope so. Besides having a game out there that my brother helped program, it just looks fun to play.

Afterward, we continued the Hanson family tradition of hiding the presents in Marc's apartment. I felt like a dork because it took me a long time to find the last one. From my parents I got a very cool sort of wispy black and red top, a soft and cozy red fleece shirt with a hood and embroidery on the bottom edge and cuffs, and a black and silver long sweater thingy that you see all over (all of which I'd picked out a week before at Fashion Bug, so I wasn't surprised but still happy) and beautifulgarbage, which I'd seen them buy for me along with Boa's Twilight at Finder's, which was nice of them to do since I'd asked if they could just pay until I got to the ATM that afternoon after the Kent game. The Boa CD is being saved for Christmas. So again, no surprises, until--Mom bought me the two-year-old and three-year-old little china girls in dresses. Well, this makes no sense unless you've seen them, but all my life I got one of these for my birthday--they go from one year to sixteen years, but a couple of years ago the wall thing they were displayed on crashed and most of them broke. So the replacement process has begun, which was really sweet because they have a lot of sentimental value. Mom said she'd tried to glue one or two of them back together but it didn't take so she started buying them again. I love my mom.

Would like to write more, but I need to get up at 6:30 for the trip to Cleveland tomorrow--ugh! The band is playing during halftime of the Browns/Ravens game, which is pretty cool, but I despise getting up that early on a Sunday. It feels really odd to have a performance on a Sunday instead of a Saturday--I'm used to having the tension of class continue through Saturday and then I relax and slack on Sunday. Now it's the opposite. I'm half-terrified of sleeping through the alarm and missing the busses so I'll make sure to set it very loud when I finish this. I hope we get back early enough for me to go to karate, since I might not make it Monday either--Val and Eric and I are going to eat somewhere for my birthday. Maybe we'll go to Chi-Chi's and make the waiters sing again.

Sleep calls, and I still have to dry my hair. This is Angie the teenager, signing off.
