They should a trailer from the 4-part (series) finale that contains: -SUKI BEING ALIVE AND NOT DEAD -A quick sequence of Katara pulling back from an Aang-kiss looking surprised, and Katara jumping into Zuko's arms for hugging. They LOVE to fuck with the shippers. -Azula, backlit by blue light, with her hair down and looking PISSED -Katara and Zuko bending back to back in a very cool-looking balanced sequence -Aang and Zuko firebending side by side -Sokka pulling Toph by the hand as they run -Multiple characters falling into the sky -Sokka helping Zuko swing up onto this train thing by the hand
Future episode basics: -The Boiling Rock prison will be a two-part episode -We will see what happened to Katara and Sokka's mom in a flashback that includes wee water tribelings -The last episode before the finale involves the gaang going to see a really bad theater troupe put on a play of their adventures -The series finale will be 4-episodes long. They're not fucking around on giving it time to breathe.
Clips shown: -Zuko's speech to the frog in the Western Air Temple, since that's technically not shown here yet -Sokka surprising Suki in her prison cell in an exchange that kinda reminded me of Han and Leia in Return of the Jedi. There are makeouts. -A lengthy sequence of the play episode. The play is hilarious and Suki has an interesting reaction to the stage version of Yue. The whole thing is seriously meta as HELL, in a good way
No Iroh at all, except the fake play version of him. They're keeping his fate close to the vest.
As an added aside, they assured us that they are very involved with M. Night Shamalamadingdong's live-action version.
Hmm...my first instinct is still Azula, but I will happily embrace it if it does turn out to be Ursa. Though I could see them being evil and leaving her fate ambiguous as something Zuko will pursue as the new fire lord.
But somehow, the clothing makes me think Ursa, because Azula is always impeccable, and that looks like poorfolks clothes. Plus, Azula's hair falls differently when down...
My gut says Ursa... but maybe because I want it to so badly. I love the drama of the image, either way... one thing I love about the this show is the art direction, and how they design it to look cinematic in scope and perspective.
-A lengthy sequence of the play episode. The play is hilarious and Suki has an interesting reaction to the stage version of Yue.
For some reason I don't think Suki fully understood what it meant to Sokka when she made that joke; if did, it's pretty tasteless, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. Sokka's reaction went to my heart. It was funny and sad and so in-character, him getting wobbly-eyed and fanboyish over a bad fictional representation of his failed romance, just because it was about Yue.
I've decided that the K/Z hug is a "Yay you didn't die either, cool beans!" hug. It had that feel.
Azula makes more sense to me because why would the editors just reveal Ursa like that...though if they did so purposely because they know we'll assume it's Azula, that's pretty deviously awesome of them. Probably a bit to Machiavellian though.
I don't think there's any way Suki really could understand it. She knows Sokka was affected by being unable to protect someone, yeah, but the moment is presented so cheesily in the play, it'd be a leap for her to watch it and realize it was a hugely painful emotional moment in real life. I'm still squeeing that it looks like she'll be a regular gaang member. (And Sokka's girlfriend, woo, even if they don't come out and call her that.)
I agree. Maybe it comes after that bit with him falling out of the sky.
See, Viacom's non-union, though. I suppose the strike still could have played a part, but a seven month hiatus? Pshaw! (I know, I know, preaching to the choir)
Well. THIS has made my day. WHOO! (There's actually a portuguese language Boiling Rock trailer floating around the internets. I saw, it looked way cool and I was so happy to see the living prison Suki.)
I just watched the players episode. I could... I could die of happiness now except then I wouldn't live to see the full episode later.
"This is exactly the kind of wacky time-wasting nonsense I've been missing!"
::blinks:: Yeah. That could be because it's... filler? NO, BUT THAT WOULD BE BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL AND THE WRITERS LAUGHING AT US. SURELY IT CANNOT BE THAT.
Player Katara cracked me up. And I noticed she had a slit on her dress! In cold weather. Plus she was way more endowed than Katara is.
But nothing beats Aang being played by a woman. I'm guessing that's a throwback to Peter Pan.
It wasn't until the second viewing that I realized Player Zuko's scar was on the wrong side. ::snert::
Word to everything you said-there were just so many great bits I cannot LOL enough at all of them. I adore the fourth wall-breaking so, so much. I didn't notice the side of the scar thing for a while, either. I was too busy laughing at the awful mask.
The hug thing is totally squeeable. I have a feeling it will be awesome for what it is. I just won't allow myself to believe that it means what the promo editors would like us to think. (Random: does anyone else think that Kataang sounds kind of like an awesome sound effect? "KATAANG!")

Along with Bumi and a lot of the other Avatar allies we didn't already see in The Day of Black Sun.
But yes, I think gentle Ursa coming back and firebending her way to her boy's side would rule. RULE, I tell you!

I'd say that it is plus or minus a few points from the writer's strike in either direction.

I don't know. But I hate the hiatus too.
Not as much as a friend does, but that's because he only became an Avatard this year, and got through seasons 1-3 in about two weeks.
