I WAS JUST THINKING THIS PAST WEEKEND ABOUT HOW AWESOME CHRONO TRIGGER WAS ON SNES AND MY ROOMMATE AND I WOULD PLAY IT ALL THE TIME AND THE GAME ACTUALLY HAD DIFFERENT ENDINGS BASED ON WHAT YOU DID AND HOW WAS ALL OF THAT GOODNESS PACKED INTO A TINY SNES CARTRIDGE?
OK, I know this is a totally dumb question, but I haven't ever shopped for handheld consoles before and have only marginally kept myself aware of what's available, and i"m at work and shouldn't even be skimming sites for prices, let alone doing research on the damn things (*g*) -
I know it was just called the DS at first. Now I see everything is DS Lite - is that the only option to buy these days? Is it basically the same thing just in a smaller package, like the newer generations of ipods?
No problem! A DS Lite is basically the DS, only a little smaller to better fit your hands, with a brighter backlit and slightly bigger screen. It's better all around. It also comes in different colors, which is fun. You're pretty much spot on about it being like newer ipods. It will also play previous-gen games from the Gameboy Advance, which can be fun, but there are plenty of great games specifically made for the DS.

I will have to wait until my budget is a little better under control before I can afford one, but I definitely have it on my list now.
