La la la so tired yet so much to do omfg
So tomorrow I leave for Otakon. I know, it's not until Friday--Thursday if you count the pre-reg sign-in in and pre-con partying, which I do. But this way, I get to hang with my friends that much longer! I think this is going to be a really fun con--and bonus, I get to meet
sache for the first time in coming up on five years of friendship. Dayamn. Yay!
...and yet I have so much to do. >.< Need to finish packing (a lot of my stuff is together, just not in my suitcases), finish burning schna, getpresents sekrit things together, buy feathers, pack some more, print out badfics, and probably one or two other things that I've currently forgotten but are hopefully on the list I made yesterday.
Did I mention I work 6-close tonight at DQ? Yeah. This is gonna be interesting. Ah well, maybe I'll depart ye olde internboat early. Deborah's not even here yet, hence the updateage.
Speaking of internships--funny thing happen. Yesterday I got a call from the other place I interviewed at, the one that didn't hire me. Turns out I was a top pick but they were kinda slow and they don't like having interns with nothing to do. But things were picking up and would I like to come in three days a week until I go back to school? As it turns out, I was only going to be here for two more days, since Deb is shortly to be on vacation. I asked for time to think about it, but I guess I will. So I'll be able to put down two internships for the summer. Weird.
But back to fun Otakon plan-y stuff. For any of you who are going, if you see a trio of angel girls from Haibane Renmei, stop and say hi--that'll be me,
fadingembers, and
arafel. So cute will be us. I'm really excited about this. I picked up the dress from
egaumer and his lovely girlfriend on Sunday, and it's adorable. As for other cosplay, I haven't decided which of my previous ones to use--Messy Yukino from Karekano or Queen from Suikoden III. I suppose I could use both--maybe Yuki on Sunday since it's an easier outfit to get on and a shorter day of conning. Neither will be all that comfy in the humidity of Baltimore, but dammit, I am an attention whore. I admit this.
Fic has been eating my brain this week. I'm committed to finishing Misconception and slutfic before I move on to new things, so it's just cruel that a fully-grown plot rabbit exploded into my head and insisted that it would be NEAT to write. Damn damn damn. I will not let myself get distractedby this at least, but still. I weep with the pain of unwritten fic. It's totally sad, like when Eyes High held back the birth of Skywise until it would be safe and died from it in Elfquest: The Hidden Years.
Whoops, geek moment. Can you tell I've been re-reading my Elfquest TPBs? Damn, I love that series. When I'm not hurting for cash anymore (Damn you, digital camera! Damn you, Oregon, being all far and shit!) I really want to finish the reader's collection of TPBs. Elfquest was probably one of if not the very first non-X-Men comic series I got into, when a senior library co-worker kindly lent me her books when I was a wee freshman in HS. I was amazed then, and I still am. Wendy and Richard Pini really created something magical with the World of Two Moons.
I love Mr. Topic Drift. He's gonna get me a ring and we're gona get married.
