Otakon!

I want to go back! Sniff.

Seriously, I had such a fabulous time. I met up with Grey, Casey, and Angii at the airport and all was a blast from then on. The Prawn Room II: Electric Boogaloo consisted of myself, Casey, Grey, Alyson, Kiri and her friends Dave and Peter, Casey's friend Erin, and Astra, though she was unable to spend the night because of a friend's illness. We also met Esor from the VM list, which was really cool. He was cosplaying as pimpin' black Wolfwood and did a danm fine job. He also spilled fic ideas, which we shall now bug him for. Mwahaha!

I don't really know where to begin, so I guess I'll start with the important part: purchases. *_* Oi, I am poor now, but it was worth it. We cleaned out all the dealers of non-yaoi doujinshi. I got no less than 13 individual issues and 2 anthologies, as well as the absolute only VxM dj being sold at Otakon. Some of the ones I did get were freaking hysterical, including a non-graphic Knives/Vash. (Wow, I like a twincest dj. What is the world coming to?) Utena fans would also appreciate the gag story of Wolfwood as Utena and Vash as the rose bride. *snickers* Also starring Legato as Touga and Knives as Akio. . Also on the list o' stuff I brought home are a Trigun lunchbox, a Trigun calendar (yay free!), two kawaii fan Trigun badges (are we sensing a theme here?), all the Trigun manga available that I didn't have, a lovely Harry Potter print (Antigone, remind me to scan later, you'll love it) and a Trigun ink piece from the art auction, a freaking cute Sailor Senshi as PPG print, an "Anime: crack is cheaper" decal, along with a kawaii Kenshin one for Becky, an Excel Saga poster, and the knowledge that I shook Yasuhiro Nightow's hand.

Nightow. *_* NIGHTOW! It was fabulous. I was SO nervous when we reached the front of the line, like a small child at Christmas. He signed my Trigun Maximum vol. 5 (picked as so to keep the shippy vibes flowing). He's quite cute, and nothing like his dough-headed charicature. In fact, we thought the guy from Madhouse was Nightow at first because he did resemble the charicature, and I took two pictures before we realized the truth. It was just really damn cool to have met the man who created my favorite anime/manga series. I'm still a little giddy, I think.

Fun con moments:

*Receiving a marriage proposal from the kid who really, really wanted the Kensin print I had been bidding on but decided to let him have.

*Discussing fic and delivering my "Legato symbolizes AOL" spiel at Legal Seafood (as opposed to Illegal Seafod) Saturday Night.

*Getting to meet Astra and Esor, cool people and good writers from the list. Yay for fic secrets sharing!

*Bitching about fic with those of like minds.

*Meeting and falling in love with Angii, who is a living spaz attack and cute as hell.

*Getting to stay after hours to play free DDR at the arcade and passing three more 9-footers.

*Watching a Legato/Wolfwood cosplay couple (both girls btw) play yaoi for the crowd.

*Mistaking an Ellone/Laguna dj for Selphie/Irvine. "Um...never mind, I'll take the other oen instead."

*"RED HOT YAOI! Get `em while their pants are off!"

*Watching "This is Otakudom" and "The $$60,000,000,000 Funky Chicken" with an appreciative crowd, and later meeting and getting tips from the maker of "TiO."

*Watching Trigun and MSTing it with the Prawn Girls. We made the end of episode 23 humorous. Yep, we're going to hell.

*"Subservient finger-drinker am I!"

*Discussing yet more fic and Grey (I think) coming up with the image of Meryl carrying 50 baby bottles instead of 50 derringers.

*GTO and Excel Saga. Whee!

*Watching the dub of Perfect Blue and hearing Rem say such phrases as "She's a tarnished woman, like a slut!"

*Stealing toilet paper from the convention center so we wouldn't have to call housekeeping for more and having them discover that in our world, 5 people really equals 11.

*Casey telling us of her action figure drama and generally having more brain-sharing moments with me.

*Taking pictures of the gigantic 69 modern art sculpture.

In the 36 hours or so since I've been home, I've sent money for two dj I won on ebay, sent more money for a ten-dj set from Sumire, and bid on yet another dj on ebay. I think I have a problem.

How long `til Ohayocon?

Sounds like it was a lot of fun!
I wish Sumire would have ever e-mailed me back after the five different times over the past 9 months. I don't think she likes me. :/
There is this pretty little doujishi on ebay right now called "Shooting Star". I like the description a lot but I can't get it because I need to spend my extra money to fix my truck.
-_-;
I should just give up trying to collect doujinshi!

*doesn't whine doesn't whine doesn't whine*

See? I'm handling my jealousy in a mature fashion. ... *explodes*

Wait, did you say Ohayocon? ^.^
