Let us say that packing two apartments, both up several flights of stairs, and unpacking them in a third apartment, also upstairs, is rather sore-making. Ouch. Ouch. Don't know if there will be any DDR for me today. In the end, though, my brother and Carole and Maggie the dog and Kitty the cat (yes, really) are all tucked away in their new apartment. It's pretty nice. I feel kind of bad for the guys; Carole got Marc an actual 1980 Pacman machine for an engagement present a couple of months ago. It'd drive me nucking futs, but he's a bigger game geek than I am, so it was perfect. However, it's really heavy and really damn hard to get up and down the stairs, especially when one of the staircases curves. Eek.

Wow, that's like, totally interesting, eh? *makes rude noise* Ah well, I'm just killing time until Otakon. Cannot freaking wait. In the tradition of [livejournal.com profile] fadingembers I have decided to make a list of things I can and cannot buy.

Allowed
*The Meryl action figure, if by some miracle it has arrived in the U.S.
*Trigun and Trigun Maximum manga, especially vol. 5. I need angsty schmoop, dammit.
*Butterscotch pocky
*As much doujinshi as my little bird arms can carry, with an emphasis on VashxMeryl and WolfwoodxMilly. Extremely strange pairings with which to horrify people are also acceptable, but then, I've already got a copy of Peeping Room. I just really want the Pannya Soup Blue Honeymoon issue. And the non-Pieces dj by Rosebud.
*Any especially cool Vampire Hunter D paraphernalia for [livejournal.com profile] sarcasticval.

Not Allowed
*CDs. They have a st00pid policy about no EverAnime or the like because it's making money off of piracy. As Grey says, "This at a con that shows fansubs and charges for admission." Don't forget doujinshi, which may be fine in Japan butwould drive the copyright holders crazy here. I'm an evil downloading fiend to begin with, so I guess no worries.
*DVDs, unless they are cheap or ahrder to find, like DNA^2. If I do get a normally-priced DVD, I'm limiting myself to one.
*English-language manga that I can get at Mediaplay for 10% off anyways.
*Trigun and Cowboy Bebop mini-busts. They will go down in price, probably in time for Mid-Ohio Con and Ohayocon, and then I can buy ten and become a vicious eBay scalper. Woo ha.

Hmm, not much to report otherwise. Still plugging away at slutfic, though the Crazy AU FFVIII o'Wackiness has been prodding me with its metaphoric elbow lately. The Wolfwood AMV has been driving me crazy, but I'm going to keep working at it in hopes of having a watchable copy by this weekend. We shall see. At least it helps me out with lines like "remember when I moved in you/the holy dark was moving too," because it makes for easier clip matching, and hey, I'm five years old.

The Meryl action figure should be coming out soon since it came out on the 7th in Japan. :/ They are suppose to be shipped her ASAP.

I think that I've finally gave up on my quest to find VashxMeryl doujinshi because everytime I tried to e-mail Sumire she never replied and everytime I saw a really nice one at jpgoodskoba.com they were taken rather quickly. :/ The only actual VxM ones that I have are Honeymoon Blue and the two perfect world ones.

If you can't ever come across Trigun Doujinshi just tell me and I can easily get some to you. I they are only $5.50 each. I'm sure that you'll have no problem at all getting them at Otakon since Nightow will be there. ^^ I really wanted to get my friend here to have Nightow sign my little Trigun card (that has Vash and Milly's voice actor's signatures) but I don't think that he would. ^^; Oh well, I might have another chance someday.

Ah! And strange flavored Pokey? I can get you any flavor your heart desires (that's avalible!) it's all rather cheep, too... My favorite is the chocolate pocky covered in almond pieces. ^^

Oh! And if you watch the AMV contest my brother has is video in it. It's the spastic one to Lain. ^_^;;;

You have Honeymoon Blue? You die now. *whimpers* Not really, but that's one of he ones I really want. Pannya Soup = pretty! Hopefully I will eb able to find some good dj at Otakon, especially since Doki Doki Station si apparently bringing a lot of their stock. Joy!

I am curious about this low-priced doujinshi that you speak of. *_* How? What? How?

I will definitely look for your brother's video, and cheer extra for him. ^_^ My video's coming along pretty well, so maybe someday I'll have one too.

Gah! I didn't mean "Trigun Doujinshi" ^_^;;; I meant Trigun Maximum. Stupid me. -__-;

HoneyMoon Blue is pretty but it's not to terribly interesting because there seems to be a LOT of talking and nothing going on. I WISH I knew what was going on. :/ It'd probably be a lot better if I could actually read Japanese. ^^;

LOL. Okay, I was wondering. Thanks for the offer! If I don't find the manga I'm looking for at Otakon, I might take you up on that. Must...have Volume Five....gah.

I heart Pannya's prettiness. One of my friends reads Japanese pretty well, so I might have her translate the scans on of these days. Then the talking would be joyful!

Your brother did that Lain video?

Tell him it rocked. I didn't get to see who won this year, but I voted for that one.

He's very happy to know that so many people loved his video at Otakon because when he showed the same Lain one to "Come to Daddy" at Sakura Con over here in Washington it was to much for the people watching it and they didn't like it!

His didn't win at Otakon because it was entered in the wrong catagory but he's happy that people like it this time.

Ummm...if you're willing to give me money and shipping, I'm kind of at the source for that sort of thing. I know I can get Trigun manga--and most manga--for under 4 bucks a book...

[identity profile] jaina.livejournal.com 2002-07-28 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
D'oh! I thought I replied to this already! Anyways, I got pretty good prices on most of TriMax at Otakon, but no one has any of volume 7 over here yet. (The latest stuff.) So sure, if you see any of that, I would pay for it. Even just one original issue of Young King Ours would be pretty damn cool.

What I would really kiss your feet for (metaphorically, darling) is the Kaiyodo Meryl action figure. It's out in Japan, but no one has it here yet. I would be freaking ecstatic if you could get that. If not, thanks for being so willing to feed my growing manga addiction. >.<

*hugs* Hope you're having a great time. I miss you! I got you something at Otakon. It's small but cute, so hopefully you'll like it.

Amazon Japan has the seventh Trigun Maximum(coming out 8/1). I get most of my stuff from them, their shipping isn't too awful and they're big so they can handle any shipping mishaps.

Where did you get Nightow's signature? At the first signing or at the cavalcade on Sunday?

At the first signing. I was so nervous, it was silly! But it was really cool nonetheless. I shook his hand. Eeeeh!
