Bad thought and good thought of the morning

Bad thought: Anyone who thinks that the WTC disaster is a last wake-up call for the US from God is a fucking moron and I will say that to their face if necessary.

But it's too early to fume.

Good thought: Darien and Andrew are painfully in cute whenever they have scenes together, and they're so damn Canadian it makes Megan's fic even funnier.

In other news, Val got all twittery and incredibly hyper last night after she received her paid journal. I had to point out the new shortened address. *g* It was very very cute and I'm glad we got it for her. Now, if only Char would get home and open her present!

Okay. Luna and Artemis playing tug-of-war with some kind of snack is also painfully cute.

it's a wake up call to overhaul our intelligence gathering that at one time worked but I fear Clinton bolluxed that all up... and it's a wake up call to stop these nutcases before they kill everyone.

certainly it is NOT some sort of God-induced chaos because of sexual preference and beliefs.

I WON'T get started on that this morning.

Sad to say, my ire was not provoked by Fartwell and his cronies but by someone on the Sailor Moon Romance Fan Fiction mailing list. Not a place you'd expect to find it, eh? It was one of those "Oh America is godless and evil because we have turned away from God and we must all become Christian and pray and Bush rulz" people that piss me off, and I'm freakin' Catholic! I wonder if anyone else will call her on that...probably not. That always seems to fall to me. I might write her later, but not now.

i always wondered why the male cat in Sailor Moon is called Artemis (a fertility goddess)? Is this another one of those sex changes that seem to occur when North Americans can't seem to handle homosexual relationships (eg Zoicite)?

Rest easy... Artemis was and will always be a tomcat. ^-^

As for the sex change thing... Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury were all male dieties... so why didn't they change into men? <giggle> Naoko simply used their names for the associations, not because they were supposed to be incarnations of their respective dieties.

And Zoi and Kunzie didn't have a thing going in the manga in the first place. That was one of Kunihiko Ikuhara's inventions... and anyone who's seen Utena knows just how fond Ikuhara is of the gayness. o.O I don't remember when his involvement with Sailor Moon ended, but you can see in the eps that he did a few interesting things... namely the subtle hints of a Mars/Moon relationship that was a teeeeeeny bit closer than best friends, y'know? ~.^ It definitly is noticable in the last few episodes of the first season.

But then, I am notoriously fond of the slash. ^_^;;
