No argument from me ::glances towards her nail polish drawer::. Besides it's the lipstick index right...reasonably priced cosmetics actually have an increase in sales during a recession :)

It's the mood-enhancing, pick-me-up we can still afford without guilt. Nail polish and lipstick, esp the drugstore varieties. They are, as we say in the biz ;-) , countercyclical, like gold. If they're up, it means we're down.
And the Sephora OPI line is killer.

That does make sense. Doing my nails makes me feel prettier and also indulge my urge to make things tidy and nice-looking without being overly complicated. (MUST MAKE EACH NAIL JUUUUUST RIGHT.)
