A small Bleach theory

Or maybe just a thought—I don't think it really qualifies as theory. Assuming Ichigo doesn't just go Hollowsaurus Rex in the wake of his holing, I wonder if the thing Ishida regrets is something bad happening to Orihime when she heals the hole (uh, whenever she can actually get past Ulquiorra to do it.) It's been mentioned that she had trouble doing it the last time, when Emocar hadn't fully become Batcar, but it's not like she'd just go "oh well, can't do it" and give up; I could easily see her pushing herself to fix him even to her own detriment.

Just a thought. I fully expect KT to bust out with some surprising moves for at least part of whatever happens next.

That makes perfect sense. And it would be something of the sacrifice we've all been anticipating from her.

Here's the other thing, though. For her to heal him, someone's gotta take on Bat Boy. You think Ishida can do it?

I don't know, but I would really enjoy watching him try!

~sigh~ ...Why is this prolonging longer than need be? I want this part to be over and not have people confuse who the real heroine is anymore...

I still think he regrets it not because of what is coming, but because he gave into her wish to take her back to the battle instead of out of it. He and Rukia seemed to be the only ones REALLY TRYING to get her out of the Hueco Mundo, and now he can...but he's taking her back into danger. Because Ichigo is in danger.

Or so I read it at the time. Of course, something else'll probably come up to regret, but to me, it was a profound statement about how much Orihime tops Ishida. ;)
