There really needs to be a support group for people who keep listening to Katy Perry songs because they're catchy and hate themselves for it.

You know, I feel the exact same way about Paramore. (Or however they spell their name.)

[identity profile] jaina.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
See, I just judge them for being on the Twilight soundtrack.

[identity profile] sarcasticval.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
Stupid Paramore tricked me with Misery Business. It was fun and catchy and I bought their CD only to discover that nothing else on the album even remotely compared. Now they shall feel my wrath.

(Also, word on the spelling. When I first discovered them I had the hardest damn time finding their info because I had the nerve to spell the word right. Oh, irony.)

Their first album was better than the second one tho

I'm a Paramore fan. Don't judge me

[identity profile] sarcasticval.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, something's a little iffy when your second single is off of your first album.

Haha, seeing as how I honestly wanted to like them I think I'll reserve judgment for now ;)

[identity profile] bacafreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-06 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
But whats so bad bout the 2nd album tho?
Riot! wasn't as good as All We Know is Falling, but its still good (in my opinion :)

Though im sure everyone has a different opinion :)

[identity profile] sarcasticval.livejournal.com 2009-03-06 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I just found it really boring. I loved "Misery Business" and was hoping that the album would have a bunch of songs like that, but I found the rest of it to be surprisingly bland and generic. Which makes me sad because I REALLY like "Misery Business."

[identity profile] bacafreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. I guess it just comes down to what kind of songs you like. Cause I definitely like "That's What You Get" better than "Misery Business" (which is a really awesome song, I agree :)

Hopefully their third album will be better! :D

"Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking when I said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head~"?

...No, I'm thinking of Kate Rogers.

I KISSED A GIRL AND I LAAIIIKED IT

My guilt over liking this song is quickly alleviated by listening to the mp3 I have of a gay dude singing a cover of it.

That's not the Cobra Starship one, is it?

I love that one. It's dickish and proud, as opposed to Perry, who is dickish and ~so coy~ *snarl*.

I'd still love a reply song that went along the lines of, "Actually, you're a terrible kisser..."

(That Ur So Gay thing? I will only listen to it because my lesbian friend was like YOU MUST LISTEN! And so I did. Stupid catchy...*kicks rocks*)

[identity profile] sarcasticval.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
JILL SOBULE DID IT BETTER!!!

[identity profile] sarcasticval.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It drives me nuts because that song is really what put Perry on the map and yet SO NOT ORIGINAL. Grr.

MY NAME IS KATIE AND THIS IS NEVER THE WAY I PLANNED, NOT MY INTENTION

I heard a Katy Perry song and I liked it. :O It wasn't "I Kissed a Girl", it was something that came up on Pandora and I was all, "Ooh, hey, what's this? I... OH SHIT IT'S KATY PERRY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Huh, sounds like someone Hot N Cold.

My daughter loves that song. She feels guilty about it, too.

[identity profile] wherever.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
I would totally join that group. My son got me on to her. Those damn songs stick in my head and make me crazy, and yet I still want to listen to them.

[identity profile] reopened-wound.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
I like her?

Um...I guess I'll blame the catchy-ness too...

[identity profile] bacafreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha. I LOVE her songs xD Not so much the Ur So Gay one tho.

I use a Twilight icon to represent other terrible media shit I ingest.

[identity profile] fadingembers.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I listen to more than my FDA recommended daily allowance of "One of the Boys."
