She's a decent enough Rukia, but I heard about her from some folks who wanted to recruit her for a game I'm in, and so I checked her out and was...well...not blown away like I was expecting to be. What's the deal? Why is she such a legend?

And then someone replied and called me mediocre. Which stings a bit, but that's better than "oh man she's shitty." Honestly, kind words are always nice, but I don't want to be overpraised; sets up false expectations I can't possibly live up to. If anyone actually made me sound like some kind of legendary Rukia RPer, I want the kind of crack they're smoking. If I can make it to "pretty good Rukia RPer" then I'm happy.

Not even! That's the funny thing, I tend to play in smaller games or don't make a big splash in the games I am in, so I'm not really the type of person to get mentioned in anon memes, whether they're about the love or the hate. It's doubly funny because I KNOW this person was referencing Checkmate-Rukia and not the one I've been playing for months longer, and Checkmate is so teeny, relatively speaking.

Well, leave them to their biases, I should say. You can't please everyone, especially people disinclined to like the character in the first place.

Hee hee. I'm honestly not upset. I mean, no one LIKES to be called mediocre, but there are much, much worse things to be called, and I know other people like me. And it would freak me out if everyone thought I was Queen Rukia or something because I'd be so paranoid about every word. So I'm pretty satisfied the way things are.

I also want to point out that there were a lot of people saying 'JESUS IGNORE THE ANON MEME' this go-round, enough it hit my radar. I suspect a lot of people skipped it this time, which means most of the people on there were probably grinding their axes.

Heh, could be. And it's not like people were like "ZOMG THAT WHOREBITCH SUCKS." It's really not too bad! (Although elsewhere, someone said that the Renji I used to play at poly was awful and they felt bad for the Rukia and Byakuya I played with. Which was very funny, cuz I ended up being good friends with both those players and they never had a problem with him.)
