Obama supporters, lend me some links
Talked briefly with my dad about the election today, and he's leaning towards Obama, although he has some concerns-"he's a socialist," he said to me, and I was like "um...not quite." He was also interested when I offered to send him some informational links, so any suggestions? Definitely I'll send him to FactCheck, since that's non-partisan. I just want to tip him off the edge of the fence. He's not fond of Palin's "rape victims should totally have to have their attacker's baby" policy, which made me happy.

But mostly I like factcheck.

And Obama's own site is a pretty good source of policy.

Here's a link to a story The Economist ran a couple weeks ago. They did a poll of researchers from the National Bureau of Economic Research, which came out quite in favor of Obama.

That's what one of my conservative friends said just last night.
As for links, I have liek none, most of my Palin hatred and Obama love comes form debates and Facebook ^______^;;; *fails in the 'reputable source' department*

Colin Powell, you know, Republican Secretary of State, United States Army General, that guy, endorsed Barack Obama on Meet the Press this morning.

He's been very conservative, especially since 911. He's very heated about the election and i think watches too much fox news
he lives in NY anyway so its not like his vote matters the college votes will go to obama no matter what

If he would like a comparison, this is the official Socialist Party USA website. They have their platform listed there. Have him read it, then make sure he goes back to read Obama's platform. Especially the economic stuff.
Um, yeah.

N.B. I Canada Obama would fit fairly comfortably on the right-of-centre (as would most Democrats); I would see him as a Red Tory. (Also red and blue are flipped here, blue is Conservative, red is Liberal.) A socialist he's not, he's a right-centrist. I'm not sure even the NDP here (they are leftists) would be socialists.
