So I was going over ANN coverage of Comic-con, because lord knows it can be hard to find out what's going on when you're actually there, and I noticed this:

The first Yen Plus issue effectively announces the acquisition of two new Korean manhwa within its pages: Sarasah by Ryan Ruy and One Fine Day by Sirial. The Yen Press tagline for the Sarasah series is: "Would you want the chance to go back in time to get back the love you lost?" In the story, a young girl is desperately in love with a boy who hates her. When she confesses to him, he accidentally pushes her down the stairs to her death. But she get a chance to go back in time to fix things so that the boy can fall in love with her.

I can only assume that the last sentence was truncated and left out "...so she can reject him like a dog and KICK HIS FUCKING ASS."

The really, really sad thing about this? There are women who would do this. There enough females in this world who have been poisoned by the Disney Princess Cult and "one true love" bullshit like Romeo & Juliet (which is, btw, acceptable literature only when read as a condemnation of teenaged romance) who would totally do this. The fact that this shit sells is proof of that.

My gf has recently been sucked into Twilight. I know nothing about it except it has sparkly teenage vampires. That much makes my teeth ache.

That was hysterical. I've never read the books, but her catalog just confirmed everything I suspected about them. Wow, that's bad. Almost Francesca Lia Block LA-is-a-modern-fairytale-of-budding-bohemian-sexuality-and-diminished-responsibilities bad. With vampires.

The sad thing is that the women who are attracted to me tend to read this garbage. That fact terrifies me sometimes.
