Why do we women do this to ourselves

On a whim, Summer, Dawn and I got our eyebrows (and upper lip, for me, due to the fact that "you have very long hairs on your face." I'm not offended, it was kinda true) threaded, which...it's kinda hard to describe, but it involves the attendant basically ninja'ing the hair out with regular thread twisted together.

The verdict? It made my eyes water and wasn't the most pleasant thing, but now I'm all smooth and my eyebrows are nicely shaped without being insanely skinny or with such an arch that I look constantly surprised. So yeah, I'd do it again.

Wait -- really? That's what threading is? They have a couple eyebrow threading kiosks at our mall, and I always wondered what that meant.

Yeah. I used to envision it as, like, braided eyebrows, even though I knew that was illogical. XD

Huh. I've heard about threading but never found anyplace that does it. Might have to track one down now, waxing's a pain in the ass.

Summer tells me it hurts less than waxing, so yeah, you should try it.

It looks painful, but I've known people who've done crazier stuff (i.e. permanent eyeliner, which is essentially a tattoo, and eyelash extensions).

I don't know, after waxing my eyebrows treading doesn't sound so bad. Umm.. I might want to try it.

I would definitely recommend trying it at least one if you like to keep your eyebrows trimmed. The way Summer talked, it HAS to be less painful than waxing.
