Okay, so I'm trying to stick an image in my new lj layout and following this guide. Ignoring the fact that once I did the CSS thing, my colors all changed, I'm at this stage of things:

* Go to "Background":
Background Pattern: none
Background Image: url of banner
Background Image Repeat: Don't Repeat
Background Image Position: Top
Background Image Scroll: Scroll

Am I just fucking blind or did LJ change their customization page after the guide was made? Where the fuck do I do this at?!?!

Someone on my f-list was complaining overnight about not being able to get their layout right in the 'new system'. Since they're a person who's previously had multiple layouts, I suspect LJ have been making 'improvements'.

LJ did a complete makeover of their Cust system recently - that person's entry is a couple of years out of date, and with the layout you've selected, you have to use the Custom CSS option. I'm pretty sure you'll have to dive into playing with CSS to put the header image in.

I think it shouldn't be too hard with CSS, but it just seems like such a popular thing that the ability to "insert header image" and "insert background image" should be a part of all of the journal styles via the cust wizard ...

The color spread I edited for the header image cut off the top of his head, so I had to do so as well...it'd probably look pretty bad if I tried to draw the top spikes.

No, I think she means the LJ toolbar covers up half of Ichigo's face, so you can only see his mouth and nose... the eyes and anything above are blocked. You don't use the LJ toolbar?
