Mmm, peppermint feet

No, I haven't gone crazy. I'm just enjoying the sample of foot cream I got from Lush on Friday. Full report of the American Anime Awards tomorrow, but my brain is wilting after wrassling with Kaien icons all evening. But I can share the swag I got! Armed with $60 in gift certificates, I had FUN flitting around the store, figuring out what new things to try. What I came away with:

-A big hunk of Karma soap, since I like the smell of this version even though the Karma perfume made me gag
-Happy Hippy shower gel MMM GRAPEFUIT
-Ultimate Shine solid shampoo (I love this stuff, the name does not lie)
-Veganese hair conditioner to see what a level of conditioning below American Cream does
-Samples of Ultra Light moisturizer and Fair Trade foot lotion

I haven't tried everything yet, but judging by just the smells, let me say mmmmmmm. I'm not entirely sure why I would need foot cream--I think it's supposed to soften up the skin? That might actually be useful, but right now I just like rubbing the soft pink stuff so my feet smell like mint. I've still got $17 in gift money left, too--Lush moisturizer is expensive shit, so I wanted to try it out before committing. If it goes well for the rest of the sample, I'll probably use the remainder to get a full container. Previous moisturizers I've sampled were a bit too oily.

I should probably fall asleep shortly, since I'm tired and it's after midnight, but I think my brain isn't really registering that the weekend is ending. Open bar and getting to talk shit with fun industry folks aside, I worked this weekend, and I feel like I'm owed another day. The way it's snowing now, I might get at least part of one depending how bad the roads are in the morning, but I doubt I'll get a full snow day--we're supposed to close the issue tomorrow, and since we were supposed to do that last week, it's not like we have a lot of room to fuck around.

Between the latest episode on Adult Swim, the manga and DVD I got at the con this weekend, and the massive continuing squee over the latest chapters, I feel like I need to do some ginormous Bleach commentary/gleefest post. I'm sorry, those of you who don't share the fandom, I try not to be a one-note journal, but lately...I fail. Not my fault KT brings the awesome! But'll try and be slightly more entertaining.

I'm actually fairly fond of the Enzymion moisturizer -- I got a thingee free at the last big giveaway -- but I agree with the whole try before buy idea. That is expensive stuff.

The Lush store in Santa Monica is fucking awesome. I have never bought anything from there because every time I go in I get severe choice paralysis and can't afford to just take the whole store home with me.

If you like their peppermint stuff, Devil in the Dark soap is very nice. Dream Cream is also really, really good for dry patches. And their bath bombs are supercool!

Karma is an intense scent best done in soap you rinse off rather than a lingering perfume. Unless youre a hard-core hippie, no one needs to reek of that much patchouli.

Just remember to call them bath fizzies at the airport. But seriously, those huge ones from Lush are fun they roll around and twirl. Once we convince X to get in the big tub, I'm gonna see if Lush has some toddler friendly ones. I wish there were a closer Lush than Toronto.

Nice haul! I don't have any footsie products, but I'll stock up once it's sandal weather. My feet get really callousy on the bottoms so I think the Running to the Embassy scrub bar will be on the list, though who can resist smelling like mint?

Eee, oily. I have a teeny bottle of Skin Sin at work, both because I am actually not fond of the smell and because it is grease city.

But the bottle of Potion I scored during the rerelease they did last year...oman.
