Yes, I have contest fic. (Coming along well.) Yes, I have exchange fic. Nevertheless, I've been seduced into participating in pr0ntober month! In keeping with the theme of the month, y'all give me Bleach pairings and a request and I'll come up with drabbly bits of smuttiness (possibly ranging from suggestiveness to actual sexing, we'll see where this goes.) I'll try whatever you want, but keep in mind I'm going to be better at the ones that make sense to my brain.

For all the intimate ways they've come to know each other, Rukia has never met Ichigo's hollow. She's never outright asked, and he's always been clear on the matter; he will never let the thing take control again if he can help it. Despite a morbid curiosity she does her best to quash, Rukia never questions him and never meets it, until it decides to make its own introduction.

They're in the middle of an extremely satisfying bout of lovemaking--and with Ichigo, it is always making love, never just sex--when it happens. She has her head thrown back on the pillow, sensations building inside her, when his thrusts get a little less gentle, his touches a little less soft. This just drives her closer to the edge and she clenches her legs around his hips, anticipating.

He moves faster, harder, and takes her hands in his, pressing them into the pillow on either side of her head. She's there, right on the precipice of orgasm when he laughs, the sound high and thin. "Rukia-chan," he hisses. "It's nice to meet you."

Her eyes fly open, meeting his yellow ones as he presses into her once more and she comes beneath his touch. The hollow never blinks.

It doesn't last long. The hollow sates itself on her--arousal or horror keeps her from crying out--and afterwards, Ichigo's body is a passed-out lump that's nearly crushing her. He often falls asleep right after sex and is a heavy sleeper, so when he displays only fuzzy memories and no suspicion in the morning, Rukia does not tell him.

There is no need. What happened was an aberration. Ichigo has held iron control over the hollow for ages now--if he slipped once, it is not his fault. It never occurs to Rukia that perhaps this control is a result of the hollow biding its time, until it happens again. And again.

It isn't too often--even Ichigo would eventually notice frequent blackouts in bed. But it is often enough. It never shows its face too early, always allows them to strip each other and build a heat between them before it wrests control from its unknowing host. She never knows when it will happen, but understands as soon as it does from the way the thing moves. The hollow never makes love to her. The hollow fucks her.

The things it does to her--where Ichigo caresses her, the hollow rakes her with its nails. Where Ichigo lays her back on the bed to give her pleasure, the hollow twists her into the most obscene positions. Where Ichigo coaxes an orgasm from her, the hollow demands one, setting her nerves on fire and biting into her skin until her control breaks.

Despite it all, she never thinks of telling Ichigo the truth. She knows that despite all he's gone through to suppress the thing inside him, this will break him. He will pull away from her, from everyone the hollow could hurt, and he needs her, almost as much as she needs him. Telling him will only hurt him. If this is what it takes to keep the hollow from lashing out in other ways, she will do it. This is not being unfaithful--this is bearing a burden for him, one she takes on with no regret and only a little ashamed at the wanton she becomes when it comes out.

It is a lie of omission she is content with, until another evening when Ichigo gives her that look and proceeds to kiss his way down her body, drawing her legs apart so he can go down on her. He pulls up short suddenly, an expression she can't recognize on his face, and traces the shape of a distinct bite mark on her inner thigh--one she never noticed or she would've healed it into nothingness--and asks a question she has no good answer to. "Where did this come from?"

NO JOKE. You've actually had me thinking about the aftermath of this snippet all day.

The real question becomes, which is angstier - telling Ichigo his hollow has been fucking her or lying about it and letting Ichigo think she's cheating on him with someone else entirely?

Lying and saying she slept with, say, Renji would almost be not so bad, cuz there's a history there, and he might be able to forgive her if it was a one-time huge mistake...telling him about the hollow would mean he probably wouldn't forgive himself.

A third option would be to tell him HE did it and just doesn't remember ("I did?" "Oh yes. You were an animal. It was really great.") but that would take the world's finest bullshitting job.

The trouble with saying she slept with Renji would probably be a result of Ichigo going all Bankai on Renji's ass, meanwhile Renji is all "WTF? What crawled up your ass and died Kurosaki?"...Buildings would fall, earth would shake, both boys would end up all sweaty and bloody....*distracted*..Oh yes, back to what I was saying. But he probably could forgive her, if she told the truth...I dont think he would ever forgive himself. He is completely guilt and angst ridden half the time, this would push him over the edge.

Oh yes..Option #3 sounds good. And if anyone can BS their way out of that, would be Rukia. Technically, she wouldnt be lying if she said it was great...And deep down, (literally) Ichigo is an animal.

Option #4 would be to proceed with distractive measures...In other words, make with the smexy and happy hands and mouth Rukia dear.

Oh, it would be a totally bad idea to actually name someone else, though I think, oddly, he'd have an easier time with that, in a way. Ha, poor Renji would be like "Why are you trying to drunkenly kick my ass...and doing a bad job?" Option #3 is probably her best, if she can convince him he is just a big dumb groggy guy.

I think that's really her safest bet, even if it will get him wondering why he doesn't remember.

Realistically, telling him she slept with Renji isn't going to bypass the result she's worried about, which is Ichigo pulling away from her.

(Hee, no problem! I like them fine--if Ichigo died for real in canon, I'd totally want Renji to step up to the plate. I love their relationship in general, cuz it's got layers--family, friend, romance. I just like IchiRuki more, cuz I love Renji's devotion a little more than I love happy reciprocated Renji, and the whole partnership `we understand each other better than anyone else' thing just pings for me. But in the end, all three rock hard and various permutations are fun to play with.)

I really appreciated the way you sketch out Rukia's conflicted motives: her pleasure/protecting Ichigo. My favourite line is: "an expression she can't recognize on his face". Wow, that's a good description of a relationship suddenly going sideways.

Thanks! Even though it's hot, getting Rukia to screw the hollow is tough--I think her motivation has to either come from dark places inside her or a strong outside motivating force, and protecting him from this is kinda both.

I imagine she can't recognize the expression because what IS that emotion? He trusts her, he knows she wouldn't cheat on him, but he also knows what that mark looks like and it's right there staring him in the face.
