Doujinshi alert

"Peeping Room", the best Vash-sleeps-with-two-hookers book EVAH, is up on ebay. It's hi-larious!

I ♥ Death Powder.

Dude, me too. Enough to mostly forgive the twincest, I think. And that? Is SAYING SOMETHING.

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I love how equal opportunity they are. Smut for all!

Yeah, me too. Normally a circle that writes that stuff is banneded! from my collection on grounds of awful characterisation, but Death Powder manage to largely avoid the greatest sins. Except The Little Windows, but I don't think I'm supposed to take that one entirely seriously :-)

Is that the Wolfwood-as-rentboy one? Cracks my shit up, yo.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the one. It's just so harsh on the poor guy! XD

You just can't stop pimping that doujinshi, can you? You even got me to buy it, when I swore I'd never buy something I can't read.

[identity profile] angstymcgoth.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It's funny because Vash looks so bashful and shy is that bottom page where he looks really embarassed the part where he comes in his pants...?

If you really felt like doing the world a favor, you could scan/post it for us XD

[identity profile] jaina.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes it is.

Remind me tonight, and I will!

The first time I saw that book I thought the women were supposed to be Milly and Meryl. It took me years to find out.

[identity profile] jaina.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too. That's why I bought it, actually. I was so disappointed! Why hasn't someone made that book?

[identity profile] plantling.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
I have the scans.....

I hate to be a snark-off here, but Death Powder is one person and she keeps it clean so she can sell at Comiket and she placed a disclaimer in every book asking DO NOT SCAN HER BOOKS OR UPLOAD TO A SERVER. 0_o. As for the book you're pimpin' I love it also, all of her gags are funny. She has a new coming about Eriks called 'The Chain' but she keeps putting it off >_>

Aoki's english mailorder page is here:
http://dragonpeach.kir.jp/dpdoujin-e.html

Man I hope no one scans our books and posts them in a journal list. >_<

I don't think it's fair to expect a non-Japanese reader to know there's a disclaimer, but that's cool that you can order doujinshi from her site! I've often wished other circles offered the same thing, at least in a way I could take advantage of. I'm not going to un-scan the stuff I have and I may scan more for my personal archive (lo, I am paranoid about losing a dj/fires/etc) but I'll point interested people to the site from now on. Hopefully no one will scan your books because they're readily available--but I don't feel bad about scanning books you just can't find for friends. I've actually made a point to purchase certain books if I saw them after seeing some scans.

She posts her disclaimer in English. Very GOOD clear ENGLISH. XDD

I just had a knee jerk response because it is one of the things that drives Aoki apeshit. She even asks on her site that if you order from you must promise not to do it. You should hear her rant about avatars. ^_- I am not even going to go there. XDDD

Ah, I stand corrected. It's easy to miss when most of the writing in a book is Japanese and that's what you're expecting--so maybe less of the knee jerk next time, yes? ;) If I see another book by her that I want, I'll check out the site next time. Probably cheaper than buying at a con or ebay anyway.
