yay! It seems like so few non-stupid fans like Touga, and that makes me sad. It's all "omg hes hottiezzzzz!!!~!" (actually...just like his in-series fangirls, how about that?) I'm embarrassed to admit that I like the smarmy bastard, they're so irritating.

...but then I like SKU het, so I'm kind of um, on the wrong channel here.

If any of my fandoms had a shipping name THAT irritating I'd kill them. Urgh. (That show looks good; I hope it'll be out on DVD eventually.)

As much as I love Touga in the anime, and I do, I have to admit it was the manga version that kickstarted my love. Because the thing--when he's following her aruond and--HAHAHAHAHA!

And I'm not a huge shipper for Utena but I do kinda like Touga/Utena because it's so unexpected for him.

I've heard conflicting things about the manga, so I haven't caught up past the first book. I've heard it's good; I've heard the mangaka is terrible; I really shouldn't listen to the fandom because many of them are idiots. Eh.

But it's an exceedingly rare anime fandom that doesn't treat its manga like the Second Coming, so that seemed like a red flag. I should catch up, though. :/ This is a mark on the "yea" side. Innnnteresting.

The manga's not that bad. It definitely helped me understand a few more things about Akio and Dios b/c I read the end before I saw the end. The artist is where I think it breaks down. Pretty but blah, and not a lot of variety in facial expression. In general I prefer the anime but I certainly don't regret buying the manga. Often I'm someone who likes the anime better anyway.
