People in scary movies are so dumb

So there are all these trying-to-be-spooky commercials about the movie "Boogeyman" in which everyone looks terrified and has no idea what to do.

Duh. Just throw a blanket over his head. Then he'll have an existential crisis and you can go back to sleep.

I like how they've boarded up all the doors and windows, but we don't see any sealed closets.

They need to re-evaluate their priorites.

Besides, everyone KNOWS a closet is only a doorway to other dimensions if its closed. If you leave it open all night in full view, nothing can come through because there's no barrirer to hide behind. The dimensional perimeter of your bedroom spreads to include your closet, and monsters can't go directly into your bedroom. They need the secondary portal room (closet). Everybody KNOWS that.

I've always said that if I was in a horror movie, there'd be no movie.

"What was that noise?"
"What noise?"
"The eerie one coming from the ancient sacrificial ritual site. Maybe someone should check."
"...nah, I'm all right."
"There it is again. It's louder this time. I'm gonna go see."
"...yeah, okay. Y'all let me know how that turns out. I'm getting the fuck out of dodge."

The next scene would be me hearing about the deaths on the news. The end.
