Re: Tonight's FMA (no spoilers)

Well, I kinda saw this coming. However, that does not negate the feeling of OMFG CREEPED THE FUCK OUT NOW.

Was that the ep that intro'd a new character as well as what happened to Nina?

[identity profile] donna-c-punk.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
God, that was ... blaaaaaach ::puke:: Gross. Not to put to fine a point on it. Or maybe I just did.

The new character is cool, though. Despite the penchant for exploding stuff.

Exaaaaactly.

Yes, but how did Tsume from Wolf's Rain make it onto FMA?

Yes, but how did Tsume from Wolf's Rain make it onto FMA?

I didn't even realize they looked that similar until just now. Huh. Well, he's cooler than anyone on Wolf's Rain, dude. Of the grand six episodes I managed to force myself to watch before I almost died of boredom.

You made it through six? I stopped at 4. To be precise, I stopped when the annoying most annoying one stepped on the landmine and didn't explode.

Actually I saw episodes 1-15 of FMA before I tried watching Wolf's Rain (at least I think so?) so he didn't remind me of him. But in thinking about it, Scar is a lot more muscular and less... attached to S&M clothing.

[identity profile] donna-c-punk.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. I made it through six. Barely. It was so hard to pay attention to the subtitles. Nothing was ever happening and it just continued to NOT happen. Tsume was one of the few characters I didn't outright hate. I don't need to watch the rest of it, at any rate. My friend who's in LUV with that series explained the end to me. If you've made it through all of Dark Tower, it's kinda similar to Roland's deal. Except ... not quite.

I wasn't sure if you had, so that's why I was uber-vague.

Oh God, yeah. Me too.

Thank goodness GITS: SAC is on right after it to keep me from dwelling.

Poor little Nina.

[identity profile] sarcasticval.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, Joe and I have already seen it and we were *still* grossed out. And now we know that Cartoon Network isn't cutting anything in this show.

Splat.

[identity profile] paradisacorbasi.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
No, having seen the excellent fansub of it a week ago, CN is doing very true translations here. For a change.

Squickness stays with me as well even after having seen it.

[identity profile] jaina.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
With me too. It's not even the splat that grosses me out--splatd are a dime a dozen in anime. It's the grotesquer fusion of man and beasts, of two innocents, knowing that they were both still aware, and the callous disregard for his own daughter--jesus. Yeah, I think this is the episode that made me decide I definitely must see the rest.

<3 your icon.

[identity profile] uiggu.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, the Nina ep? When I saw it I just sat there waiting for them to pull a happy ending out of somewhere, and then whoa, and ouch, and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Beware, my jaina, for far greater pain is yet to come.

[identity profile] sarcasticval.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Which episode is the chopper one? Because I love the fight at the end of that episode soooo much. But I shall say no more for spoilers!

LOL, just noticed your icon!
