Car go boom

On the way home from work, I started hearing some unpleasant whirring and grinding noises from my car. "Hmmm," said I. "That doesn't sound good. I hope I can at least get off the four-lane highway before I have to pull over. If I could get home, that would be great. Please please please..."

Soon after, I noticed several things:
1. The air conditioning was getting suspiciously not cool.
2. I was flooring it just to get to 60.
3. Oh SHIT the engine just cut out pull over pull over pull over...

So I got to sit on the side of the highway and call my mother and AAA (in that order) as my car let loose a shitload of steam and dripped green schna. They're thinking it might be something with the radiator. The whole experience was surpisingly painless, especially compared to the three-hour towtruck saga that I went through about a year and a half ago. Ugh, now THAT was something to write about.

After work, I got to see all the high school band kids do their parents' show thing at the end of band camp. Sniff. They're all growing up so fast! And then I came home and felt like a slacker for not working on slutfic. Even though I wrote a page at work. Because only at-home writing counts. Yes, I am deeply disturbed.

Heh, reminds me of when my wheel came unattached after I'd just gotten onto 95 outside of Jacksonville, spring break at Florida. I called my dad, called Triple A, drove on the shoulder to a gas station at about 3 miles an hour...when the car got onto the tow truck, the wheel fell off entirely.
Cars, eh?

The green stuff is definitely radiator fluid. Your AC probably went out because the car needed to use that power to cool the engine. Was it overheating as well? Here's a trick I learned by listening to Car Talk... If your car starts to overheat, turn on the HEAT full blast. This is quite a horriffic prospect in the middle of summer, but it works. Last time I had to try it was when I was in the line for inspection. The car starts overheating severely and the line is slooooow. They won't even inspect the car if you drive it up smoking. So I put the heat on full blast and the temp went right back down, I passed the inspection, and the people were none the wiser.

This sounds somewhat familiar

Ya know what? While chillin in C-town wit the Lacey, my car kinda goes boom too. It was making a flapping, dragging sort of hellish noise. So I do what any normal person would do in this situation. Keep going. untill I take a turn onto Kenny and find out that *gasps* I have no power steering! So we pull into TGI Fridays parking lot and check out the car engine (like I know anything about cars) And call Dad, Laceys Mom, Shin, then A^3 it shows up after an hour, cause drive, lets just say, wasn't bright. He misses exits very easily. I think he miss 3 total. Driver wa baka desu. Anyways got back to Nerk, dropped car off, Dad came and got us, We steal his car, get coffee, and we are happy. The End.

Wasn't that a great story?
