Heads will roll

...if the rest of my group for tech class has followed the lead of One Guy who posted to the board that he's had trouble finding info on AI for our presentation. I did a search on google for maybe 15 minutes and found an assload of information. If I had time, I could do the whole presentation myself with what I've found. Unfortunately (or not) I have three other presentations and numerous papers to do (shit shit shit, I have to write one tonight) so I can't. But I will fucking kick their asses if they have flaked on me. I do not have time to take responsibility for everything.

No kidding... I always ended up with stupid partners who didn't do any work and then expected me to just put their names on the project. After a while, I just started doing projects on my own, because I got sick of spending as much time nagging people as I did working on the project -_-;;

Sadly enough, this truly is a preparation for the real world, too. I'm all for slacking, but the most important part is actually doing the work so no one will catch you at it. It seems that many budding young slackers missed the meeting where they explained that. Kids these days...

If you're interested in AI, you might like to read this: an excellent article on computer modeling of societies. It's not really AI, since there's no real attempt to recreate intelligence - it's more like AL (artificial life), but very interesting.

i totally relate/agree with those first 2 paragraphs. i used to think i just had really bad luck, but i've come to realize that there are always the those who work and those who don't care...in varying degrees. and i've begun to understand the other side when i find myself slacking a bit in a group where someone else is more ambitious than i am...but, like you said, the trick is actually doing the work. same with the trick of procrastinating. why don't people get it? grrr..

Well, I say kill them all. But that's the kind of problem-solving that gets me in trouble.
