Now that she's back from that soul vacation tracing her way through the constellation

So. I am returned from my mini-vacation at [livejournal.com profile] sarcasticval's house. So, so glad I got to go. On Sunday I was going to post an entry with the subject line being the lyrics to Blink182's "Family Reunion" (look it up) because I was pissed off, yo. It snowed a bunch unexpectedly and though by the afternoon the roads were good enough to travel on (especially around where Val was, where there was no snow at all) but the parents said no, I couldn't go. Grr. Was so angry at them that I freely admit I was a pouty little brat for parts of the day. I understand being the youngest and the girl makes them more overprotective, but the roads were clear. Anyways, I did get to go on Monday and I stayed an extra day to make up for it. Yay! I missed Val. It was just great to be around her again. We mostly hung out in Painesville/Mentor/Concord/Wherever and didn't make it to Cleveland, but that was fine because I wanted to see Val, not big city schna. Wheee! *sends hugs to Val* And I'll see her again in four days, when we move back to school. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again, but not so much to the actual work part of school. This semester won't be the semester of luxury like the last. Anyways, fun was had in Painesville. I got to meet Cat Bastard and we watched some Trigun (acting out whole conversations along with the characters on screen...I think we frightened Jim at times. Especially when we proved that we have Live Through pretty much completely memorized.) and we played DDR (I've now passed all three versions of Paranoia on the home version on Trick! w00t!) and watched some Cowboy Bebop (and mocked Spike, and grinned at his pain, as is only right and proper) and...bought plane tickets to see Char! We're definitely going! I'm so happy about that. It'll be tons of fun. We got a fairly good price, too, even if the one parental unit was being anal and shite. *snugs Val more* I slept on her flip `n fuck and it was quite comfortable. I hope I didn't drool too much.

You know what I really love about Val? At Electronics Boutique, I bought the variant Vash the Stampede action figure from McFarlane Toys (the gray one) for eight bucks. Yes, I already have the regular version of that figure. Yes, I got that one free and really didn't need another. But I bought it. Because it was cheap, and it was Vash, and I am a dork. And Val understood, without me having to explain at all. That is why I love Val. Well, among other things. Wow, when did this entry become a Val love-fest? Well, I do love her. She's a kickass friend--not just my kickass friend, but she is good at being a friend. She knows how to work the give-and-take of a strong friendship. Everyone should have a Val of their very own.

The drive home was mostly uneventful, except for the part where I ran the car off the road into the median strip. Well, it was that or into the semi. I chose the grass. I don't really know what happened. The truck kicked some spray onto the already-filthy windshield and I don't know if it just distorted my vision or if I slid onto a wet patch (though I didn't notice any) or what, but the car started fishtailing and I ended up in the grass. It was scary, but not at the time. I didn't automatically brake, which shows you can't always think clearly at times like that. But I got the car stopped and managed to get back on the highway. I wasn't hurt and the car wasn't damaged, but my heart was beating very quickly afterwards. Needless to say I am not informing the parents. I don't think I want to take the New Yorker out anytime soon, though. It started making weird grinding/whining sounds when I got into Delaware, but those stopped by the time I reached town. I wish I could use the Accord--it handles better--but it is far too new and pretty for me. Sigh.

There's nothing like some good-natured bitching for bonding time.

Hooah. There's nothing like waking up to the announcement of imminent bishounen.

Thanks!

Hey, you shoulda came over to Chardon yo. May not recognize my lj name, but hey. I go to BG too. My name is Jessica, and my bf is someone who went to your high school. Yah, snow up here can be a bitch. I'm sure Val has told ya that though already. Cool thing you had a decent time up here even if sometimes we can't find ANYTHING to do.

Anyways, enough of being weird. I'm out.
