I am a lucky bitch

I got to VCT lecture today, my only class other than band, only to hear it announced that Dr. Poor will not be there and we're free to go. This is the second time in three class days that band has been my only class. Also, my semester is just generally easy. I feel guilty sometimes, especially when I see others saddled with too much work and inept instructors, but I suppose next semester I'll get more of a taste of that. I keep thinking I'm due for some karmic bitchslap for having it so easy, even though I know it doesn't work that way.

I didn't get a ton done this weekend, but I feel very pleased with myself anyway. Maybe because I finally took the time to relax and recharge, something I do need to do despite the relative ease of my schedule. Like Mom said last week, with all the band shite we have no weekends, I don't get to do a lot of that. But this was nice. Eric and Val and I had wacky fun and learned to play the gloriously snarky game that is Lunch Money. Insulting each other is part of the game, and let's say, er, we got rather creative. On Saturday, we played and watched Star Wars, which is always fun. Mmm, Han. Mmm, Harrison Ford when he wasn't kinda crusty. Then Val discovered Princess Maker and dominated my computer for a couple of hours. I still haven't tried it yet.

Watched XF on Sunday. Thank God I was diong something on the computer at the same time, because I was bored out of my skull. I like the character of Doggett; I don't hate Monica Reyes. I adore Skinner. I think all of the actors do a pretty good job. I even enjoy mocking AD Wesley farmboy. But as for the show itself....I just. Don't. Care. I doubt I'll watch very much this season. It's a shame, because like I've said before, I've been a phile for a long time and I'll be damned if CC and his cronies will drive me out now...but they kinda have. Scully and the Cute Baby were the only ones that interested me. Well, duh, I am a Scullyist. If they go ahead with the second movie like they've been talking about, I'll definitely go see. I should have just not watched the premiere and had my last picture of Mulder & Scully as the last season finale.

If I ever get too full of myself, someone please refer me to this post, because I did something supremely stupid yet funny this weekend. The last couple of days, I'd been reading Trigun fic on ffnet and left a few reviews. I also introduced myself to the vashmeryl mailing list and got a couple of IMs from listers. I was talking to Kiri and enjoying the company of this person I thought was just a nice person fro the list, and I asked her if she wrote fic.

Apparently, I left her a review on ffnet this weekend. On two separate stories. Which I did not notice were by the same author. And I didn't realize I was talking to her.

Heh. I can be such an oblivious dumbass sometimes. Oh, well. She likes DDR, too, which is cool. I kicked DDR arse this weekend! I worked with the training mode to get some of the patterns down and finally passed Paranoia 190 (with a C, first time! Vootie!) and then went for Clean Mix, the hardest version of it on the home version...and I passed last night! Wahoo! So now I just need to pass a couple of neglected songs and I'll have passed every one on standard. I still need to get good at some, but still, cool. Mike told me it's a rite of passage for a DDR'r to pass Paranoia for the first time. Very happy about that. It's getting to the point where certain songs are so slow they get boring and I screw up. But there are still tons of players better than me, so I've got a lot of improving to do. I'll be in great shape, that's for sure.

I should probably do laundry now, seeing as how I only have one pair of socks left.

XF related rant...

ahh....you've summed up my feelings on TXF quite well.

I taped the premiere, but I have not yet brought myself around to watching it. I just *can't* deal with what CC did. It pisses me off that he ALWAYS said he would not do it without a lead and that he'd have some...well...intergrity then went ahead and destroyed everything the show was about! I think the 6th season should have been it. People bashed season 6 but that streak from Trevor - the season finale was some nice stuff. I must say that Milagro is one of my 10 favorite episodes. But Season 7, though the mythology was well done was just too much. And I really do enjoy Doggett...but...its just *not right.*

I wanna watch the FX marathon again this year. Its made me sad that in the past couple years people have been voting for more and more post season 3 episodes. I want to see Pusher and Clyde!!! Dammit! Bring back season 2! Ascension trilogy!! AHHH...Mulder with the floppy hair! (Red Speedo!)

Ok, I'll shut up now. :)
