Isn't the 1700's the last bit of the Renaissance?
If you study that you can get away with easy to remember quotes and information-where as if you take the peroid before that you'll get tongue twisted while trying read stories etc...hmmm

Anceint times: Might be interesting..
1700 to now: Thats me talking cause I like the renaissance :P

I dunno about other profs, but I am in World Lit Ancient Times to 1700 right now with James Wells right now and he is sooooo soooo cool!!! (Not to mention adorable.) We're doing mainly stuff from Greece and Rome, which I love after taking 4 years of Latin and knowing myth like the back of my hand. And we get to do Dante and even a little of the Old Testament. I just think that's all fun stuff. Some of it is challenging to read, but I kinda think the other would be too. But yeah, my opinion is based on taking the Honors version with James, so I don't know how similar the class would be in a normal section with someone else...

dunno if that helps, but hey, rambling's fun. ; )
