Interesting stuffs happened at work today and I promised I'd write about them in lj, so here I am. The short story is that an ambulance and a police officer each put in an appearance for different reasons. The long story is that first, a customer went into what was reportedly a grand mal seizure in the parking lot...not good, not good at all. I was working the drive-through then, so I didn't really know what was going on until a little later. While Kelly was outside, this real jackass came in and according to Kelly just kicked up trouble...like, he bitched about nuts and stuff on the counter and ordered people to clean them up and didn't want a blizzard because the cylinders were kept in "dirty water" (that constantly circulates). Apparently, he was upsetting both workers and customers. I in my little drive-through bubble didn't have to deal with him. Anyways, Kelly came back and he said he should call the health department, and she offered to give him the number right then and there. Then he claimed to be a health inspector, I guess just there for ice cream, but of course when she asked for ID he had none. She told him that helping a man with a seizure was just a little higher on her list of priorities than wiping some nuts off the counter (beeyatch). He didn't have much to say to that, and before he left said "No hard feelings." Kelly was all, "Yes there are." Kelly was really bitchified; we all wanted to applaud. She called the police to get her story in in case he really did call the health dept, and plus it's illegal to impersonate a county official, which the policeman confirmed. He got all the details from her and said that the guy might have been...well, casing the joint, to summarize, seeing how closely we paid attention to stuff like the money drawers when someone kicked up a fuss. Weeeell, maybe...if he's a criminal, he's not a smart one, because people will surely remember him after today. Anyways, if he comes in again, Kelly is kicking his ass out and if he causes any trouble the police will haul his ass out. Boo-yah! Made for an interesting if stressful few hours.

It's always nice to have Marc and Carole home. Maggie is around 25 lbs. now and still cute as a button. She chases Spencer around, nipping at his face and ears, and he seems rather bewildered by the small white puffball. Played some euchre tonight and Dad and I lost by a point; Mom and Dad lost badly when they played, further proving the Any Team Mom Is On Will Suck rule. Eh well, I can't play gin rummy.

Creating the Scully soundtrack has been good for me. One of Marc Snow's Scully themes and Moby's "The Sky Is Broken" have taken up residence in my mental playlist. Whee! Sailor Saturn's theme and the Starlights' Transformation theme were rotating in my head today for hours, which got annoying after a while. Ah well, only 12-6 tomorrow; very short shift. I might stay longer to get more hours to replace the ones I'll miss next week, but I also really need to pack...we'll see.

Heh. This is not the most interesting of lj posts; ah well. Things happen.

I am slowly but surely coming to grips with school starting. Really need to call BG on Monday to make sure that I'm in band and the schedule is just skewed. Looking forward to rooming with Becky! It'll be nice to have a roommate that I have any sort of relationship, other than "that girl who sometimes shares space." Lisa was nice, and sometimes we had good talks, but we just never really orbited into each other's space. Lugging my guitar halfway across campus during the ten minute break will suck, but Dad says I can strap it across and ride my bike to Moore, which might work. I hope so.

Need to embrace the laziness while I still can! Four days until Fest. Before I was too busy and frantic to remember to be excited, but now I'm getting the tingly thrills. Meeting with 100 cybergeekfriends in person is scary and exciting and wonderful, and sitting around a campfire singing Scully hymns is so perfectly right. Life as it should be.

I'm off now to dream sweet dreams of a new day...
