Re: sick as a sick thing, I am feeling much more human, though my tendency to cough and avoid foods that make my stomach do the cha-cha remains. Tomorrow will be a test of strength as I will have to severely limit my lj access so my co-workers don't realize I have one (actually, at least one knows, but I don't want them to know about the whole anime porn thing) and oh askjghwuint how will I do it?
I could post on these topics, but instead I will have a love-in for chapter 28. How much do I love this chapter? SO MUCH. Let me say that I like Orihime, but after several weeks of her specialness I get restless. But then there's RUKIA and CONSOLING ORIHIME VIA SHOUTINESS and oh, it's just so, so good.
Not even talking about the fan service-y cover, though that amused the hell out of me.
First off, AHAHAHAHA PAIRING WARS PEOPLE Y'ALL CAN SUCK IT NOW. Bleach is a remarkably mellow fandom compared to my previous ones, so I haven't seen too much of this, but this chapter basically declares in neon letters that hey! The whole Rukia vs Orihime thing that some IchiRuki and IchiOri people (and why does HIS name come first, I ask?) like it see is BZZT not there. Aha. Wow, it's like KT's a fangirl himself.
And then the glorious, glorious shout-y comfort. Yes, Rukia, by all means, grab Orihime by the shirt to make her feel betterand then rip it off. It is so, so great, as is the face-touching and the indirect thanking Orihime for helping to save Rukia's life. And this might totally be my spin on it, but I think that Rukia's "I wouldn't be where I am today" says as much about her emotional growth as it does the fact that she is, you know, not soul dust or whatever happens when the M'Kraan Crystal summons Soukyoku to execute a planet full of innocent aliens and...
Wait, I think I got confused. Must reboot canons.
Rukia has a new dress, too! The button-down front thing can look very matronly, but our girl can work it. And then the look on her face when Orihime goes flying off with Hiyori if that's her name. Ahahaha. No one does WTF faces better than KT. And the end, be still my heart. Could this possibly be Orihime getting over Ichigo? Not in the "pfft, I don't care anymore" sense, just the...letting go and being her own woman and YOU'RE TOO GOOD FOR HIM ORIHIME! Anyway. I hope so, because for all the reasons IchiOri makes no damn sense to me, the greatest is that she's way too pedestal-y about it. I lied, the greatest is that they would be awful for each other, but this is the greatest specific reason.
Ah, KT. I love you. I will not have your babies, but the least I can do is offer you an ovary for your personal collection.
