Y'know, my morning struggle for coherency would go a LOT better if this kind of thing didn't greet me:

My favorite part of the whole thing is how the otherkin are busy telling the otakukin how crazy she is. It's truly fabulous.

I once had someone explain their otherkin leanings (I don't know how much they truly bought into it) by describing whatever animal it was as "my animal." Something they identified with and felt was sort of a personal totem. How crazy or not crazy that is is up for debate, but I found that to be at least saner than the "I'M REALLY A STAR ELF VAMPYR (HALF)" stuff. I'd also be willing to bet this flicker of sanity is like 1% of self-identified otherkin.
