RPS gives me the creeps basically because I... am just not impressed by celebrities. I know they're just ordinary people like everyone else. And so I mean, these people would be writing RPS about other ordinary people, slashing my dad with my pastor or something, or me with my sister-in-law, and it wouldn't be much different - it's real people being screwed with against their will. (Although I guess those would make me personally cringe much more than the domlijah stuff does. :P)

*nods* That's how I feel, too. In fact, I try and think of them as just average people being written about and it squicks me more. "Lalala I'll just pair these two together"--it kind of makes me angry. Like, who made you the one to decide that? And I know in their minds it's harmless and not trying to be the gods of real-life pairings or anything. But it all comes back to squick for me.
