Writer means: I think this is the BEST THING I'VE EVER WRITTEN! But if I say so, you'll accuse me of being an egomaniac. So, I will say it's terrible and what I expect you to do is tell me, "no, no, it's really wonderful!"

Heh, to be fair, back when I wrote fanfic, I did think everything I wrote was awful...but I also was smart enough to know that the awful I saw wasn't quite true. Every writer thinks that they have the perfect tale inside of them...problem is that when they get it out, it isn't quite the same, so they compaire the head version to the real version.

I was at least smart enough to realize my readers didn't know the "head" version... so I did say sometimes, "I'm pretty sure this isn't great.... if you agree, please tell me why."

But yeah, I hate it when people knock themselves in a thin veil of "tell me how woooonderful I yam! Pwease?" They give a bad name to those of us who really do have bad self immage *wry grin*
