Random list of things that make me happy
1. Reading my Fundamentals of Digital Imaging text and getting all giggly and happy. I think I've found my VCT cluster focus.
2. Being able to read a few words in my manga and doujinshi. To be fair, they're short words like "un" or easily discovered through context ("Vash the Stampede", "Trigun Maximum" and "yamate") but still. I couldn't do it before.
3. Mini-Frozen Snickers bars.
4. Rainbows stretching over campus during/after a rainstorm.
5. Spending time with some really fun people at tonight's anime screening.
6. Hero in the 21st Century.
7. Bright, shiny days.
8. Baby Grunties in .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. omgwtffbbq now I dead from cute.

See? I told you it would be fun. ^___^ Pretty soon, you'll be able to figure out simple sentences, and then... BEWARE, DOUJIN!
がんばって ください!

Try it in katakana, I have that almost entirely memorized.

How's this:
ガンバッテ クダサイ!
hee, it looks really emphatic in katakana. ^___^

You're on Windows, so you probably need Microsoft's "Global IME" in order to type in Japanese. It's a free download.
Unfortunately, I don't think I can be of much help with setting it up... I don't even have it on my own Windows machine, because I always do all of my emailing and websurfing and writing and such on Linux. Once you have the IME downloaded, I think it's straightforward to install it, though.
It's worth setting up, I think... you can make flash cards and such using Office, or LJ icons with Japanese in them, and we could send Japanese email back and forth, even. Too bad AIM doesn't support Japanese, though. Stupid AIM. -_-;;
