Well, this is just neat.

So this morning I wake up when my mom answers the door and calls upstairs "Angie, you've got a package!"

"Yay!" say I. "Perhaps it is my trophy from Anime North, finally arrived!"

But no. It's from California, and flat. "Weird. I don't remember buying any doujinshi from ebay." Feeling out the package, it seems smaller than doujinshi dimensions, anyway. And it's from "Premiere Radio Networks." I grab a pair of scissors and slit open the envelope. A DVD falls out. Huh. Did someone send me a present? It's not my birthday.

I read the enclosed letter and remembered. A few weeks ago, I was driving home and on the radio they advertised this site, www.winthematrix.com or something. (It wasn't actually that; just an inconsequential prize-type website.) You could fill in your name and pertinent info and enter a drawing to win a copy of The Animatrix. I figured I'd get some spam, at most, but I'm actually "one of the first prize winners"!

This is really cool. I never win anything that's just a random bit of coolness type contest. (Cuz you know when it's a competition, I kick ALL kinds of ass. omgwtfbbq.) A DVD! For free! For me! I actually have Josh's borrowed copy already; good thing I didn't get around to watching it yet. I feel all kinds of special now. Yay!

So let this be a lesson to you, kids. Random radio advertisements can win you stuff.
