Eeeee! and Ooooow! A Jaina-licious combo!

*pauses* Now wasn't that odd. I wonder where that crack-inducedness came from.

Anyways. The "Eeeeee" is because...I got a guitar yesterday, and it's gorgeous. A very pretty blue and sort of purplish on the back and sides. I lurve it. It's also got a narrower neck, which makes it easier for my itty-bitty fingers to hit the chords. I named it George. ^_^ How did this come about? Well, I hinted strongly to my parents that I wanted a guitar for Christmas and the ones at the pawn shop they looked at were too expensive, and there was a cool blue one in the window of the shop up town here for only $100...since they don't really come here except for football games and schna, they said I should go check it out and if I liked it, to put it on my Visa and bring it home and they'd wrap it up for Christmas. WHEEE! I brought Sarah with my yesterday morning between classes, and she gave her approval. I actually got a different version than the one in the window--same kind, just with the narrower neck. Sarah says it has slightly better reverb too. Voot. Along with the zip bag, pick, and complimentary strap, it was only about $150. Sweet. I might try and beg the parents to let me keep it ahead of time so I can play it in class and give Val hers back.

The "Oooooow" comes from my arms, which currently feel like they have carpal tunnel or something. Last night in karate, we were doing a bunch of conditioning exercises. I was paired with Eric (not [livejournal.com profile] egaumer, he shall be known as Karate-Eric. Sigh. I know too many Erics. Joshes, too.) and we really beat on each other. We're not trying to hurt each other during these drills, but they are for strengthening and neither of us would give an inch. We did four types of blocking, so basically my arms from elbows to knuckles felt shattered by the time we finished. Owie. They feel a lot better today, more sore than outright painful. Last night, I couldn't move anything without wincing in pain. I bruised my stomach a little from the ab conditioning, too. I was laying in bed last night wondering why it hurt and then...oh. *shrugs* It sounds bad, but I really will benefit.

So my weekend was rox0r, as they say in l33t. Or something like that. On Friday, Becky and Val and Eric and I went to Josh's apartment (which is huge and pretty and immediately coveted by Val and me) for stir-fry and Tekken fun. The food wa delicious and we had a silly tag tournament on the PS2 afterward. Val and I sucked, kinda, but it was still fun. On Saturday we went to Panera Bread and Meijer's. Food was good and I got some sweet pictures developed from early this semester, which I'll scan after break. Being silly in Meijer's is always fun, and afterward I dyed Becky's hair "Burma Ruby"--bright red. It looks great. It was incredibly foggy that night--you couldn't even see Meijier's from the edge of the parking lot! When we drove by Founder's we couldn't see the top of the phallic administration building, either. That meant no meteor watching for us, which is kind of okay because we're lazyasses. I remember getting the tired sillies in Val's room around two--ahhh, being tired is such fun after getting up at 7:30 AM for a stupid parade and then standing around for half an hour in the cold doing nothing before it begins! < /sarcasm > Sunday was all band stuff--had the Band-O-Rama end of the year concert. Which means that Friday's game and the recording sessions after break are all that's left. VOOTIE! I love band with all my heart, but I'm ready to be done. The thrill is gone. I want to get out of it and remember fondly before I start resenting it.

Unexpected meeting--apparently Nathan is in University Band or one of the others, and he came up to me during intermission. We chatted for a few minutes. Apparently he's living with Eric Doebert this year. Small world. I quickly made my escape to talk to the Blumenscheins, though. Afterward I amended my opinion on Nathan--he was never really stalkery, but he's a guy who can't take a hint. During band camp last year he'd try to follow me to my room every day after lunch when I wanted alone time and he'd always IM me and have nothing really to say, or not get it when I didn't have anything to say. So not a bad guy, just a tad clueless. This must be the week for me and people who are somewhat obtuse. Sometimes people just make me want to bang my ahead against a wall (or theirs, even better) because they Just Don't Get It. Maybe I should borrow Megan's Clue Hammer (tm) sometime.

I am truly impressed with Eric's anime-watching stamina. We've been reminding him to watch Trigun for weeks now, and he had some time yesterday so he did watch...18 episodes. Damn. I guess he liked it. *grin* He watched a couple more this morning and I watched 22-23 with him...heh heh heh. Yes, Val, he did do the whimpery voice thing at the *spoilerspoilerspoiler*. It was funny. He needed a hug. I'll make him read Sand & Light when he finishes the series, and it can become his mantra, too. He looked somewhat dazed by the angst...and there are still two more episodes for him to, ahem, Live Through. Ahhh...Live Through, you are the sweetest of angsty episodes. I could watch you over and over...oh wait, I have. Hopefully we'll get together this weekend sometime besides the con and watch the last two together. Then he can read my evil smutty songfic satire. Meheheh. If I do another one of those, I'm thinking Vash & Meryl will sing along to "Turn Me On." E-Rotic, I salute your fine music.

This weekend should be fun. Anime & Harry Potter with poor temporarily-crippled Josh, catching up with Jeff, working at the Con and meeting Andy Hallett...good times. I'd like to leave now, but we still have band practice. Blargh (I am dead). Hopefully we'll just speed through and leave even earlier than yesterday. I have to get home in time for Buffy! There, there, shut up Angie.

Off to send myself files so I can actually accomplish a few things over break. Oh, and the cleaning lady isn't coming to our house tomorrow so I can do it instead and get paid. w00t! That's $50 more towards Christmas presents. Considering that my wallet will be sorely tempted by two days of Comic Con, I think this is a very good thing indeed.
